mecca

In high school my "Mecca" was guess and abercrombie, mid college I moved onto Nordstrom, gotta love KOP, in grad school it switched to starbucks, and now with a little family I have found my newest indulgence: Whole Foods! The finally opened one within 15 minutes of our house and let me say Kasey and I were Amazed this morning when we went to check it out! As I have been weened off my parents money and realize you ant waste money on clothes and specialty coffee drinks... I have turned to food. You NEED to eat to live so this justifies my grocery store trips! We also love trader joes, which I take for granted since it is so close, and Wegmans, which is just too far right now.

Luckily Kasey and I leave for the weekend and Andy and I decided on a spending limit. I was able to keep our first purchase under $30. We got a fresh baguette and fresh mozzi for pizza tonight. Made trail mix from the trail mix bar for this weekend. Grabbed 4 stuffed cookies for a special dessert tonight. An almond croissant, because I could not resist! Some pears and fresh,y ground almond butter!

It's another gorgeous day, a little chillier than yesterday, so we took a walk. We are hopefully headed for a jog later. Also had to make some Irish soda bread quick since this weekend is St. Patrick's day!
Irish Soda Bread Recipe
1.5 cups white-wheat flour
2.5 cups bread flour or all purpose
1 teaspoon + 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup raisins
Combine dry ingredients, add buttermilk, stir in raisins
Cook 45-55 minutes at 350 degrees

Kasey and I leave our house for VA around 5:45am as long as I am running on time. She is super excited to make the trek to check out VA and hopefully try out her new summery clothes and bathing suit ( Katie- the one you got is the next size up, I know she will fit into it by this summer)!
