Kasey and I made our first beauty product today!

Kasey has been harder and harder to put down at night and of course we messed up her routine Friday night and Saturday night (taking her to a super stimulating Villanova basketball game - probably not the smartest move) making last night impossible to put her down. Although, I must say she was quite a hit at the game and looked pretty adorable decked out in her Nova onesie.

Andy and I took turns holding her while she slept versus sleeping so I had to amuse myself from 2:30-5am somehow, which is how I found lots of DIY beauty products on Pinterest!

We decided to make a Sunshine Sugar Scrub which was pretty simple - we halfed the recipe to fit in a 13.25 jar we had on hand. I am very excited to "pamper" myself and use it tomorrow.

My major luxury having a baby -she is 3 months tomorrow, so I guess she is no longer a newborn - is taking my time in the shower! During the week when Andy is at work I shower while the baby is still in the carseat from a trip and I rush in case she wakes up or while she is happy watching her mobile knowing her mood can change in an instant. I am lucky though - you always hear about the moms that dont even get a chance to shower! So I have been enjoying my showers all weekend with Andy home and he is off tomorrow and my parents will be visiting Tuesday into Wednesday so I will be fully spoiled with long showers- may as well make a new scrub to use! If you make it note: it smells delicious but don't be fooled I tasted it and its just not that yummy!

I also found an idea for a DIY Microdermabrasion face scrub - 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water - mix to a paste and scrub onto face! I figure 3 teaspoons baking soda and 1 teaspoon water should make the perfect amount!

Really this perfect skin doesn't need any DIY help..

Kasey already loves bathtime so I know she will be excited to pamper herself when she is old enough with all these DIY treats! Then we can do at home girls spa days together!
