Sunny February

So it's 60 degrees on February 1st! I am so blessed to be off during this crazy winter and get to enjoy the weather. It seems so crazy to feel like we are already into Spring weather, perfect Spring weather no less.

Kasey and I enjoyed the weather by taking a few walks and a jog yesterday and opening up all the doors!

Hey!

On our walk this morning I made a "mommy faux pas..." I saw another woman strolling a young child around and she stopped to pet Annie and I asked how old her baby was... Of course it was not the mother and she answered that she was "from the corner house" haha - so no play-dates for baby Kasey yet. I immediately assume if there is an older-than -me woman with a baby it must be her's - woops bad assumption.  I felt pretty silly.

Due to this gorgeous weather -we also made some refreshing treats. Yesterday we made ice cream, Thin Mint ice cream! Yay- Girl Scout cookie time! Used our ice cream maker - and added one 14ounce bottle of Trader Joe's organic sweetened condensed milk, 1 and a half cups half and half and 1 cup almond milk with a dash of salt, vanilla extract and peppermint extract. Then we mixed in almost a whole sleeve of Girl Scout Thin Mints, crushed. Delicious! Nice and refreshing! Really the pictures just didn't look fantastic - but I swear the flavor is.

Tonight I have a double header to coach and at 6 hours it will be my longest time away from my munchkin :(
I hate leaving her for anything more than 30 minutes so this will be rough. She will be in good hands though - my in-laws half the time and her father the other half. So really I am less worried about her and more worried about me. I have held her all day and didn't even go for a run so I wouldn't have to car seat her all day. On Monday night, I dragged her and my husband to one of our games because I just miss them so much when I am gone. Of course it was a huge game, away, and there was a line to get in the door - which I couldn't get them through. Luckily they wear streaming the game into the smaller gym where my husband and Kasey hung out. Here is the picture he sent of her watching my game...

To make it through this evening and since it is so warm out I though I needed a caffeinated treat so I tried this "Healthy Starbucks Frap," http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/08/01/healthy-starbucks-frappuccinos/.  I made half the recipe, which was the perfect amount - with Almond milk, 1/2 teaspoon decaf instant coffee 1/2 teaspoon espresso powder, and I added a teaspoon vanilla protein powder and a few shakes cinnamon. I also decided to blend it with ice- perfect!
